There was a good turnout of seventeen Harriers, one guest and two dogs for the annual Mince Pie run on Saturday 15th. This year the run started from the church in Glen Artney, went along to the end of the tarmac road, then north up the track through Strath a' Ghlinne.
After a few miles we all stopped for a feast of mince pies, fudge, ginger cake, flapjacks, coffee, mulled wine and more!
Suitably refuelled, some folk started the return journey while others carried on along the track to the river crossing.
A fast splash across the ford provided cold wet feet all round, followed shortly by the discovery of a footbridge fifty metres further upstream - the recce party were commended for their thoroughness!
A mile or so further on, the influence of rain, cold wind and Christmas shopping led to a further split in the group, and half a dozen runners retraced their steps to the car park while the others went on to complete a circular route over Beinn Dearg and back to Glen Artney.
