Seven Harriers made it to Gleneagles for the Orchill 5k and
10k races. Remarkably, three of the seven were running just a week after completing
the Strathearn Marathon – most impressive!
Elaine opted for the 5k race and ran well to finish in
fourth position and second lady in a fine time of 24.15.
The rest of the crew opted for the 10k and put in some
splendid performances. Angela was first home in 40.13, in 17th position overall
and third lady. John, obviously recovering well from his marathon exploits, was
next home in 43.02 (25th position). Julia smashed her target of a sub-55 minute
10k before a certain birthday with a terrific 52.40, and Seonaid took over six
minutes off her Balmoral 10k time to finish in 53.30. Sandwiched between Julia
and Seonaid were Karen and Richard, running together and finishing in 52.49.
