Simon Wake Comrie Relay Results 2009

Well done to Ochils men's and women's teams who won just about everything at this years Comrie Relay.

The men's team set a new course record of 3:17:12 and picked up all 4 leg winners prizes with Prasad Prasad and Ross Houston setting new leg records on legs 1 and 4 respectively.

Ochil Ladies held off the challenge of the home club to win the women's competition b 5 minutes.

First vets team was Carnethy with Beacon retaining their Mixed team title.

The weather was excellent and, I think, a good time had by all.

Thanks to all organizers and helpers on the day.

Here are the results in image format. When Gordon gets back I'm sure he'll tidy this up a bit and post the full excel file, but for now, I hope this is good enough!

I've added some Strathearn-centric photos here but there's also quite a few from other teams too!

Thanks to Strathearn Harriers for putting on an another excellent event.

Congratulations to all the category and individual leg winners. Particularly to "Ochils" "new" members Prasad and Ross who set the records on leg 1 and 4 ;-).

Can't speak for Prasad, but I've seen Ross Houston's name under Ochil a few times. Pretty sure he's done leg 4 in the Devils Burden relay in a Purple vest the last two years at least.

Lol. Don't do much hill running myself but agree and also thought they ran for Clydesdale and Central AC from what I've seen on the road\XC:

I guess these guys run for Ochil in the hills as their clubs don't enter teams? Fair enough I say - would be good to see a team rival the might of Carnethy....

I think that's enough on the topic of 1st vs 2nd claim runners.

As one of the race organizers, it was great to see such a high quality team taking part. I believe that while the course records set yesterday are impressive, none of them are unbeatable - we just all need to get stronger teams out next year.

Our aim for the race is to have a really competitive and high quality race while retaining the relaxed and friendly atmosphere so that, within reason, all standards of runners feel welcome and want to come back year after year.

I hope you agree we're on the right track to achieve this...
